I know we are all watching our wallets these day, but my least favorite question to ask a bride is "What is your budget?"...I hate to make it seem like it's all about money...BUT...it is important for a few reasons.
First, I would hate to crush a bride's dream wedding because the money just isn't there. I'll give you an example...I had a bride show me a picture of a GORGEOUS centerpiece a few weeks ago. I showed it to Renee at FloraBella Florist and she said it would cost about $200 per centerpiece, give or take. If I know the bride's budget for centerpieces up front, then I could say if we need to scale the centerpieces back a little or if they are doable as is.
If I am referring couples to photographers I need to know if they are looking in the $1,500 range or the $5,000 and up range. I would hate to refer them to the more expensive one if they were not expecting to pay that much for a photographer. On the reverse side I would hate to insult them if they have more money to spend on a particular service. I have contacts on both ends of the spectrum, I just need to know your expectations and desires.
Music...does the couple want uplighting? A monogram on the dance floor? A vocalist during dinner? These are all things that affect pricing and if I know the budget for music I can determine what can be done and what cannot.
So while you may not know what certain services cost, it is important (and HELPFUL) to have some sort of budget prepared for your wedding. What can you afford? Who is contributing to the cost of the wedding? It is also important to not start out your marriage thousands of dollars in debt because you didn't plan ahead.
Helping to budget and to distribute that budget is only one of the services we offer. If you'd like to set up a free consultation we can discuss it further!
