A Spa Day

How lucky was I to win a Spring Ahead Package at the Spa at Norwich Inn!? I attended a QCC Business After Hours Event last week at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford and won! Since I am an event planner, I figured I HAD to take a day "off" to do some "research". I mean, how am I supposed to refer a facility like this if I don't experience it first hand, right? Right. So I immediately called and scheduled my day at the spa.

I was a little nervous about going alone since I have never been there, but I was quickly put at ease upon my arrival. Everyone was so friendly it was hard to feel uncomfortable. The first thing I had scheduled was a Cardio Sculpt class. This made me nervous since I have NEVER taken any classes at my own gym before, not to mention it's been a while since I've actually gone to the gym regularly. There were only 2 other women in the class and the instructor (Candace, I believe) was very nice. I found myself struggling to follow the steps in the first half of the class but not once did she make me feel awkward or embarrassed about it.

Right after the class I was escorted to the ladies' locker room where I showered and changed into a comfy robe and flip flop slippers (I was told it was fine to wear this to lunch, so I did!). The locker room was very clean and had beautiful vanities for the women to do their hair and makeup after showering. It also had a sauna and a hot tub. I had some time to kill after my shower so I stuck my feet and legs in the hot tub and relaxed a bit (since I forgot to bring a bathing suit).

Next on the agenda was lunch! I had a lovely mean at Kensington's, which was included in my package. Spring rolls for an appetizer and a delicious salad that had peaches, raspberries, grilled chicken, candied walnuts and red onion over fresh spinach.

Next came my favorite part - THE MASSAGE! I had a Sweedish massage and it was AMAZING! I had some tension in my shoulders (imagine that!) and Rob got it out (at least temporarily!). I was a little weary about having a male masseuse but he was very professional and the massage was great.

This was such a fabulous day and well worth the hour drive back and forth! I undoubtedly would recommend the Spa at Norwich Inn. Next time, I'm staying overnight though! I can only imagine what the rooms are like!
